Sauvignon Blanc is quickly becoming the nation’s hottest white wine for a reason, and we jumped on the opportunity to buy grapes from two fantastic sustainably-farmed Sonoma vineyards. Our winemaker Tami Collins turned those grapes into this beautiful, pure California Sauvignon Blanc.
75% of the wine comes from Dry Creek Valley, a 16x2 mile region with 10,000 acres of vineyards and no stoplights. Corporations have much less of a foothold here than in other Northern California AVAs, with many of the wineries owned by the descendants of immigrants who farmed here in the 1800s. Known best for its world-class old-vine Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc is its clear standout white varietal.
The other 25% comes from Alexander Valley, one of the more diverse Sonoma AVAs, with elevations ranging from 400 to 2500 feet. Its inland location has a warmer climate than other Sonoma County regions, making it a prime growing region for Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other Bordeaux varietals.
